We in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) Office of Academic Affairs want to reinforce the campus message denouncing continued violence, harassment, and targeting of members of the Asian and Asian, Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) community. The tragic murders of 8 individuals, 6 of Asian descent, in Atlanta is only the latest example of horrible, but not new, aggression that has been documented, particularly over the last year. We support our colleagues and peers who identify and share in these experiences, and acknowledge the pain, heartbreak, anger, and continued concern that may exist for individuals. We encourage you to utilize campus services that may be helpful, and reaffirm to the CALS community it is each of our responsibility to ensure a climate that is safe and respects the human dignity of each individual. This article was posted in A Message from the Dean.
