Trio Week
This week, the Center for Educational Opportunity (CeO) and the McNair Scholars Program, UW’s two TRIO programs, are celebrating TRIO Week! We want to commemorate the 35th National TRIO Day and the annual achievements of the Federal TRIO programs in communities across the country. Read more about TRIO day here.
TRIO programs are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post baccalaureate programs. In total, there are about 500 students between McNair Scholars, Student Support Services, and Student Support Services STEM here at UW!
Check out our social media (@uwceo) for spotlights and come to our Student Panel (on Wednesday, Feb 24th) to hear more about TRIO students’ experiences!
