Need to get registered to vote?
The Madison City Clerk’s office is offering on-campus voter registration support in tents at Memorial Union and Union South from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Sept. 28 to Oct. 19.
The Madison City Clerk’s office is holding voter registration events every Tuesday through Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Pres House on Library Mall. Safety restrictions will be in place for all these events.
HOW TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN WISCONSIN:
Online: Visit myvote.wi.gov
Download your UW–Madison voter verification letter using the online enrollment verification tool, and print that out too. Mail the form and the enrollment verification to the Madison City Clerk at City Clerk’s Office, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Room 103, Madison, WI 53703. Or email the electronic versions of the form and enrollment verification letter to voting@cityofmadison.com, and they will print it out and mail it back to you to sign, along with a return envelope.
Once you’re registered to vote, you can request an absentee ballot and vote by mail. In Wisconsin, voters don’t need an excuse or reason to vote absentee.
HOW TO REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN WISCONSIN:
Online: Visit myvote.wi.gov
Mail: Download the Application For Absentee Ballot, complete the form and mail it to your municipal clerk’s office.
When you receive your ballot, fill it out and mail it back as soon as possible, following directions. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing it at least one week in advance of Election Day.
EARLY ON-CAMPUS VOTING:
Early in-person absentee voting will be available on campus from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Oct. 20 to 30, at outdoor tents set up at these locations:
- Union South
- Memorial Union
- East Campus Mall outside Student Activity Center
