Sami Khatib (Agricultural Business Management Class of ‘16)
“As a Manager of Business Development, I target and develop commercial relationships with Fortune 500 food and consumer products companies that don’t currently source their flexible packaging from the Bemis Company. Though I don’t have any direct reports, I manage an internal team of Marketing, Research and Development Engineers and Field Technical Service to ensure a timely execution deliverables. My experience in this job has allowed me to interact with a wide variety of people with different educational backgrounds, and I’ve learned that the foundation I gained at the University of Wisconsin has allowed me great opportunity to turn an Agricultural Business Management degree into a diverse skill set and fulfilling career. That said, the Wisconsin Experience is more than just the prestige and respect assumed by a diploma from a top university but also the years necessary to mature and develop one’s own goals, ambitions and personality. Everyone has their own path, and my only advice would be take full advantage of the time and resources that you have while on campus before the day comes when you will leave and represent yourself as a UW Graduate.”
