November has been dedicated to honoring the history, contributions, and presence of Native Americans on the UW-Madison campus.
UW-Madison was founded upon land that was occupied by tribes native to Wisconsin. Markers can still be seen on campus designating burial mounds. It is important to note this legacy and to take steps to learn more about its history and its impact.
Many events and activities will take place during November to recognize Native American Heritage month. We invite you to visit this website to learn more and make plans to attend: wisc.edu/native-november.This article was posted in A Message from the Dean.
