Cutting-Edge Science, Familia, Motivation, and Opportunity” are only a few words to describe the 2018 SACNAS Conference in San Antonio, Texas. SACNAS – The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science – promotes and encourages the growth of historically minoritized populations in the growing world of STEM. UW-Madison representatives were given the privilege to attend this space to learn about the amazing research and discoveries students are making all over the world every day. The students at the SACNAS conference are the innovators of the future. We have been incredible fortunate to be welcomed into this space as it has allowed us to meet with students from many different backgrounds and foster success for the students who are interested in our program.
We are greatly looking forward to SACNAS 2019 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Visit sacnas.org/team-details/university-of-wisconsin-at-madison for more information. This article was posted in A Message from the Dean.
