Current Occupation: Small Animal Veterinarian in Sacramento, CA
According to Dr. Vasquez, choosing the Wildlife Ecology major suited her interests for studying animals and their habitats. As a Posse scholar originally for Los Angeles, Dr. Vasquez felt that Wildlife Ecology provided someone liked her who had no agriculture or animal background with a good opportunity to learn about animals while preparing herself for a career in veterinary medicine. Her favorite classes were Field Ornithology and Animal communications. She appreciated the small class-sizes and opportunities to get involved on campus. Dr. Vasquez was a tutor for the PEOPLE program, joined a Latina-based sorority-Sigma Lambda Gamma, and worked as an animal caregiver at the UW School of Veterinary Medicine. This article was posted in A Message from the Dean.
