Reminder – CALS Student Recognition and Photos for Graduating Students

In an effort to recognize the accomplishments of students, the CALS Student Association and the CALS Academic Affairs Office would like to invite you to a social gathering at the end of CALS Week (CALS Week is April 18-22). This event will be Friday, April 22, from 2:30 – 4:00, in the BioCommons of Steenbock Library.

At this event, you can:

  1. Take a formal graduation picture. Pictures will not only be made available to graduates at no cost, but will also be included in a slideshow that will play during the CALS Post Commencement Reception.
  2. Help celebrate student leadership. Students make tremendous contributions to the campus and the Madison community during their time at UW-Madison. A few awards will be presented that recognize student leaders. And, all attendees will be able to spend a few minutes sharing their collegiate experiences with CALS administrators. We want to thank all of you for your contributions!
  3. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the senior class gift. The Class of 2015 raised more than $1,000 and will be honored on the donor wall in the new “home for student experiences,” the former CALS Dean’s Residence! Pledges of $25 receive cords to wear at graduation, $10 receive a “W” crest keyboard decal, and $5 receive “On, Wisconsin” sunglasses. Gifts of all sizes make a difference for the students who follow in your footsteps. The Class of 2016 can be honored on the Dean’s Residence donor wall if $1,000 is raised this year!

The photo session and leadership recognition event will be held in BioCommons (Steenbock Library) on Friday, April 22, as an end to CALS Week. Pictures will go from 2:30 – 4:00, the awards will be presented during a short program at 3:00. Dean VandenBosch and Associate Dean Pfatteicher will be there to meet you and celebrate your achievements. Light refreshments will be served.
